You're the Reason Why Daddy Drinks! Achievement

You're the reason why daddy drinks! is an achievement that the System AI awards to Carl, and only Carl, on the Fifth Floor.[2]

AI Description

New Achievement! You’re the reason why daddy drinks!

You have, for an unspecified reason, raised the ire of the System AI. You have corrected the issue, and everything is back to normal. The acceleration action has been suspended. This time.

Good boy.

Story

Book 4

After Carl, Donut, and Katia Grim destroy the Wasteland, the System AI throws a hissy fit that includes the Cannonball! Achievement and tagging the Dirigible Gnome corpses as, "Killed by falling from a great height with an assist by the Crawler Bitch Boy Carl." Katia asks Carl what he did to piss off the System AI, and Carl, clueless, looks up to the air and says, "I don’t know what I did, but I promise it wasn’t on purpose."

They find gnomish snipers armed with bandoliers of Live Ammo Balls, each containing a Level 11 Frenzied Gerbil. Donut announces that the System AI is experiencing a case of "blue balls," and regales Katia with the story of their Second Floor encounter with Ralph. Katia, amused and horrified, remarks that the Dungeon shuddered in a similar way when Grull stomped on Carl on the Fourth Floor. Donut suggests that Carl should keep a small stash of "squish-sized creatures so [he] can sacrifice one every morning," and Carl makes everything worse:

“No,” I said, interrupting. “No fucking way. Fuck the consequences. I am absolutely not going…”

The System AI proceeds to flood the team with an endless swarm of Level 11 Frenzied Gerbils. Carl refuses to smush any of them until the flood drives them all the way back into Hump Town, and then into Weird Shit Alley. Finally, he smushes at least 50 of them. The swarm stops as quickly as it started.[2]
