A Personal Space is a space attached to a safe room that allows a crawler an area to customize and store their own stuff. Safe room rules apply in a personal space.
Upon buying a personal space, a crawler receives the Welcome to the Neighborhood! Achievement.
Purchasing a Personal Space
Personal spaces much be purchase from a safe room proprietor starting on the Third Floor.
Cost
Mordecai mentions that safe rooms usually cost 40,000 gold, but the price during Dungeon Crawler World: Earth increased to 50,000 gold starting price. The price is "fixed", with the Bopca being told what to sell it for, but there's usually about 25% wiggle room on the price (37,500 gold). The system won't allow the room to be sold for less than that. If they get negotiated into selling at a lower price, they must pay the difference themselves. [1]
Bopcas are incentivized to sell magical spaces with rewards like earlier location selection for the next floor or a larger food budget. The rewards are based on selling the spaces, not on the price the space is sold for. [1]
Personal spaces can also be purchased with Personal Space Coupons, which all crawlers (except Quan Ch) who participated in the Fools Who Broke the Glass Quest received in their It's Not My Fault You Fish-Headed Assholes Don't Properly Program Your Quests Box. [1]
Spaces can also be joined together to create higher level spaces for a 5,000 gold fee per union. [1]
Levels
Personal spaces start at level 1, but can be upgraded using gold or by combining rooms together. When two level 3 rooms are joined, they form a level 4 room. When three level 3 rooms are joined, they form a level 5. [1]
Level 1:
- Whomever buys the space is the owner
- 1/4 the size of a level 5 space [2]
- One open room, except for small crafting space
- Level 1 crafting space can hold 5 basic crafting tables
- Too small for things like Training Room upgrades
Level 2:
- Room gets bigger
- Ability to upgrade kitchen space
Level 3:
- Individual rooms are big enough for training module
- Not as tall as a level 5 space
- Allows to convert space to combine to communal hall with other crawlers, only one space has to be level 3
- Once combined, individual spaces are smaller but all share in upgrades
Level 4:
Level 5:
Layout of Space
When entering a personal space for the first time, the room is empty and looks like an airplane hangar. The team leader can set the location of things like the entrance of personal spaces, restrooms, and common area rooms. [2] Crawlers can buy specific rooms for things like crafting tables or training facilities.
Additionally, any Shrines will show up in the personal space.
Rules
Crawlers and other NPCs cannot come into a personal space without being whitelisted by the personal space owners. Any crawler with a personal space attached to a communal space can whitelist crawlers. Crawlers can only be whitelisted into a space after a space is a high enough level. [3]
Personal spaces can only be combined with crawlers in the same Party. [3]
Upgrades
Any upgrade purchased in a combined room setting is shared amongst all rooms, but it is tied to the crawler who purchases the upgrade. Environmental upgrades travel with a crawler but table upgrades stay with the table. [1] If a crawler in a party dies, the upgrade goes away. [2] Upgrade coupons are only valid for up to 250,000 gold and cannot be combined with other coupons. [1]
