Mute is a spell that inflicts the Muted Debuff on its target, preventing the target from casting spells.[2] When cast, it looks like a yellow bolt that follows the target. When it lands, a timer and an icon featuring a speaker with a cross through it appear above the target's head.[3]
At level 1, the bolt moves painfully slowly. The duration of the effect appears to depend on the target's level and relative strength: it lasts for 1 minute on weaker mobs but only a few seconds on bosses.[3][4]
