Mexx appears to be a brand of robotic limited artificial intelligence designed to manage Senegal Production Systems Production Trailers and instruct crawlers on tunnel appearances. It looks like a metallic, jet-black floating frisbee with a single blue light flashing on its edge, and typically hovers near the ceiling when not interacting with crawlers. It speaks in a soothing but emotionless robotic female voice.[1]
Story
Book 1
Mexx-55
“Death Watch Extreme Dungeon Mayhem?” I muttered, moving to the chair. The moment we sat, Donut’s seat raised up. A table formed out of the wall, grinding in place in front of us. It was only about two feet wide. “That’s the stupidest name I’ve ever heard.”
“Yeah, wait until you see the show,” Mexx-55 said.[2]
Mexx-55 oversees the cheap Senegal Production Systems trailer that the Maestro rents for Carl and Donut's Second Floor appearance on his show, Death Watch Extreme Dungeon Mayhem.[1]
Book 2
D-0NAH
Carl and Donut meet D-0NAH (whom Donut immediately start calling Donna) while getting ready for the Danger Zone with Ripper Wonton show. While not explicitly called out as a Mexx Robot, Carl does describe it as a frisbee robot thing. The trailer they are in was supposed to be for Manasa, but got switched at the last second to clean the crawlers up from their mess with the Divider. [3]
Book 3
Mex-6000
Let me translate it to earth monkey speak. The mudskippers are cheap bastards who have built this entire crawl with spit and duct tape and items they have purchased at the equivalent of an interstellar swap meet. Everything is built with very little regard for system security and is done as cheaply as possible. The fact it hasn’t yet broken down or bitten them in the ass is a testament to the very real existence of the concept of ‘dumb luck.’ Do you understand now? [4]
Mexx-6000 tells Carl about Enhancement Zones while he and Donut are waiting in a trailer for the show Planet Beautiful. [4]
