I felt for the guy and the other three. Would I have stayed, continued with my duty? Even when it was so damn hopeless? What a nightmare. I thought I’d had it bad, but these guys… The world was over. There was no hope for these poor people they’d been in charge of protecting. This harsh environment wasn’t meant for the weak, the frail. Yet to these four—Brandon, Chris, Yolanda, and Imani—the idea of giving up their duty wasn’t even a question. (Book 1, Chapter 22)
Lead by Imani and Elle McGibbons, Meadow Lark is a party consisting of the surviving residents of the Meadow Lark Elder Care Facility. Meadow Lark regularly teams up with the Royal Court of Princess Donut, and is the controlling party of the guild, Safehome Yolanda.
Description
The Meadow Lark party consists of the surviving night staff and residents of the Meadow Lark Elder Care Facility in Wenatchee, WA.[1] Carl and Donut helped Meadow Lark speed-run the first two floors of the Dungeon so that the elderly, level-1 patients could gain a fighting chance by selecting a race and class on the Third Floor.
Story
First Floor
The night staff of Meadow Lark Elder Care Facility in Wenatchee, WA, were forced to evacuate all (250) residents from the building shortly before the transformation because Agatha set fire to the facility's kitchen. After the collapse, staff members and remaining emergency responders began moving the freezing patients into the warm surface-level stairwells, but were eventually prevented from returning to the surface. The Meadow Lark party entered the dungeon with at least 75 patients and approximately 20 total staff members, firefighters, and police officers. Their Game Guide was Mistress Tiatha.[1]
Carl and Donut meet Meadow Lark 40 hours before the First Floor collapse. Brandon Andrews, Chris Andrews, Imani, and Yolanda Martinez have defeated one neighborhood boss but are the only remaining non-residents; the others were killed by the Ball of Swine, the first floor bathroom bug, or were picked off one-by-one while searching for an unguarded stairwell. Thirty-three residents remain in the hall with them, just outside the Ball of Swine's chamber; another 30 residents have voted to stay in a safe room for now; and Imani was forced to mercy-kill 12 more residents.[1] The Royal Court and Meadow Lark (and Agatha) team up to build a redoubt and defeat the Ball of Swine, gaining access to the stairwell in its chamber.[2] Of the residents in the safe room, only six chose to descend to the Second Floor with the others.[3]
Second Floor
On the Second Floor, Meadow Lark staff fashion a ten-car "giant centipede" using salvaged wheelchairs and a single scroll of Yog's Special Chain to transport (39) patients to the next stairwell, which Carl and Donut located in advance. Everything is going smoothly when Jack drops his pants and summons a Rage Elemental. In the chaotic aftermath, Jack, Randall, and Yolanda Martinez are killed.[4] Only (36) patients, Brandon, Chris, and Imani make it to the Third Floor.[5]
Book 3
Imani and Elle McGibbons are in constant communication with Carl and Donut throughout the Fourth Floor. Team Meadowlark sets up at Station 36 for the Stairwell Fight on the Fourth Floor. [6]
