Lexis

I'd call him brave, but he's crying like a little girl. -- Lexis[1]

Lexis is Odette's assistant and an associate producer of Dungeon Crawler After Hours with Odette.[2]

Description

Lexis is extremely matter-of-fact and efficient in the studio and in combat. She is the first Syndicate Human that Carl and Donut meet, and she explains the tunnelling and recording process clearly and concisely.

She smokes the same vape pens as Quasar; the smoke refracts light and smells like burnt candy.[3]

Appearance

Lexis is approximately 5' 5" (165.1 cm) and willowy; as a Syndicate Human, she is only about 3/4 as wide as an Earth Human. Appearing to be in her late 20s, she has Asian features and long blonde hair held back in a tight bun. When her clothing is described, she's wearing a simple black dress.[2]

Her voice is "light and musical. Almost cartoonish."[2]

Story

Book 4

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 4
Armed with a flechette gun and a skintight black bodysuit with a translation module, Lexis locates Beatrice on Earth when Bea's bounty is the highest on the Walk-On List. In the process, Lexis kills Gennrik, captures Sadir, and -- efficient as ever -- suggests wiping out the entire settlement of New Queen Anne before Odette proposes a more humane option.[1]

Book 5

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 5
During the hand-off between Valtay and Borant Corporation on the Sixth Floor, Lexis - at Odette's behest - warns Carl and Donut about the upcoming Butcher's Masquerade and country boss Queen Imogen. She encourages them to go down the stairs early. Donut reveals to both Carl and Lexis that she had helped smuggle Valtay agents to Zev shortly before Donut and Carl are teleported back to the Dungeon.[3]

Book 6

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 6
The first time Carl sees Lexis after Donut's big reveal, Lexis and Zev are whispering to each other.[4] Lexis sits beside Carl while Odette explains her motivations for participating in the Twelfth Floor Ascendency Games, and her only reaction is a sharp breath when Odette states that she expects to die.[5]

Speculation

  • Odette calls Lexis "Plexis" exactly one time during the series.[6] Is it a typo, or is it Lexis's full name?
