“Larracos is the capital city of the disputed lands,” one of the nearby guards said. He was a level-45 crocodilian named Igor. “It is the prize over which the factions fight." [1]

Larracos is the main city of the Ninth Floor Faction Wars (game).

Description

According to the popular stories, the area was once just a flat, verdant land with forests on the outskirts and rocky ground, filled with caves and rich minerals. When the dwarves decided to tunnel down to the gods, they burrowed through solid rock, only stopping when they reached the roots of the All Tree.

The architecture seems to vary a lot from floor to floor. Carl sees an alabaster-colored, medieval style towers and various other towers, including a stained-glass, cathedrallike ceiling.

Layout

The city is huge, but it has a narrow diameter. It’s shaped like an inverted cone, dug deep into the ground. The castle is at the bottom. The mercenary market and the markets are near the castle, deep in the city. There is a shanty town for NPCs on its outskirts.

The Semeru Dwarves often say there are 66 levels, but that’s not true, since not all rings completely circle the city. the Floors are numbered from the bottom up. Upper levels mostly have NPC residences, for instance, Level 49 is mostly comprised of homes. Level 50 is known for the college, which takes up a third of the ring. The rest of 50 is the high cultural district and museums. There are three rings in Larracos that are called cultural districts, and 50 is the uppermost.

The Desperado Club includes a Larracos entrance, where gambling is done with credits rather than gold.[2] The Desperado club and the other brothels are in the pleasure district.

History

Story

Book 2

Before Scolopendra's attack, the Skyfowl ruled the Over City. Mayors like Magistrate Featherfall would report to a regional governor, who reports to a royal chancellor, who would report to someone in Larracos. [3]

Book 3

While visiting the Casino in the Desperado Club for the first time, Carl notices a stairwell down labeled "Larracos" and asks a guard what that is. He describes Larracos as the "capital city of the disputed lands...the prixe over which the factions fight." Donut mentions that they sounds like they are having a good time down in the casino floor, to which the guard responds that "their fighting is mostly good natured. The Desperado Club is where they come to unwind. The armies of the factions aren’t allowed to start conquering each other until you lot reach the ninth floor. So until then, the serious commanders train their units, and the rest party. The gambling that occurs on that level is done with credits, not gold.” [2]

Book 4

On the current season of Dungeon Crawler World, Larracos is underwater. Many of the "non-Dungeon-generated combatants" based in Larracos are trapped inside the Desperado Club.
