““Hail, brother and sister, and Princess. Fine Princess! Hail! You have survived the train wreck. We must flee this wretched place. But behold! Luck is on our side in this dark time, for we are at a transit station where we may find sustenance and mead!”[1]
Gore-Gore is a neighborhood boss and Mantaur train engineer on the Ochre Line of the Fourth Floor Iron Tangle.
AI Description
Gore-Gore. ManTauR. Level 40.
Ochre Line Train Engineer.Of all the ‘taurs out there, from Centaurs to Bisontaurs to Rhinotaurs, the ManTauR is one of the weirdest. Half Human, and, uh, half human, the ManTauR has been genetically engineered for both strength and dexterity, making them perfect for the often-grueling and thankless job of Tangle Train Engineer.
Unfortunately, the act of making these magnificent, large-footed beasts oftentimes results in creatures with double amounts of testosterone and whatever else makes humans so prone to overt masculinity and hyper, overenthusiastic piety toward their god of choice. [2]
Appearance
Carl describes Gore-Gore:
“From the shoulders down, this was a normal man. He was built large and strong. But where a normal person’s neck would be was another torso, leading to the top half of—another?—man. This top half wasn’t as large as the lower half. The creature had a pair of legs and arms on the bottom half and another pair of arms on the top half. The gap-toothed man had greasy, black hair that hung out from his engineer’s hat. His top torso wore a filthy, once-white tank top that read “Welcome to the Gun Show.” The bottom, larger half was naked except for a loincloth made of fur. The man’s face and naked lower half was covered in lined streaks of blue paint, like he was cosplaying Mel Gibson’s character in Braveheart.”[2]
Story
After Carl, Katia Grim and Donut crash the Ochre Line train on the Fourth Floor, Gore-Gore emerges from the previously-sealed engine car. At first Gore-Gore thinks they are passengers and is friendly towards them. Thanks to Donut's high charisma, Gore-Gore explains the Abyss Station Gate and how the engineer car works. He then saunters off to get a drink from Club Vanquisher.[2]
One of the clerics in the club snitches on the team and Gore-Gore attacks the team, initiating a Boss Battle. The team try several plays on Gore-gore till Carl hits him with his Enchanted War Gauntlet of the Exalted Grull. Since Gore-Gore is a worshiper of Grull, each hit Carl lands increases the odds of summoning the deity by 1.5%. [2]
Gore-Gore grabs Carl's throat, strangling him so Carl casts his Protective Shell Spell. Unfortunately due to the spell being a static spell, when Gore-Gore is blown away, Carl is dragged with him. They land on the subway tracks in the rubble of the derailed train. Gore-gore now had a blinking 10 second timer over his head, indicating the god Grull was in the middle of being summoned. Carl kicks him over to the third rail, electrifying the body and killing Gore-Gore before Grull is fully summoned. [2]
Gore-Gore's corpse has 498 gold, an Ochre Line Engineer key, Rev-Up Magic Hair Restoration Tonic, and the Neighborhood Map.[3]
