Goblin Dynamite

The AI shouted that last word in my head, and I almost pissed myself. I stood still for several moments, my heart thrashing. “You are a fucking asshole,” I whispered up at the air.[1]

Goblin Dynamite is an extremely volatile explosive created by Goblins. The red stick is wet and sticky, and the long wick hisses and pops like a sparkler when lit. The wick must be physically lit using a lighter or mechanism.[1]

AI Description

The System AI whispers the description in its game show voice:

Goblin Dynamite.
This stuff is especially volatile. It’s so volatile, you probably don’t even need to light the wick to set it off. It’s so volatile, even loud noises might set it off. Keep it in your inventory until you’re ready to use it. Be gentle and don’t squeeze too hard or else you might get the…

The AI doesn't speak for a good two seconds, and then shouts:

BOOM![2]

Advanced

After reaching level 5 in the Explosives Handling Skill, crawlers unlock the ability to view "Status", which is represented as a number out of 50. When the status drops below 15, a "Danger" warning appears.[3]

Goblin Dynamite deteriorates quickly; Carl handles an unlit 10/50 piece as gently as possible for only a few seconds, and the status drops to 9/10.[3]

Story

Book 1

Carl first uses Goblin Dynamite when he throws a stick into the lair of the Hoarder when peeking into the room for the first time. [1] He also uses a stick of dynamite to defeat the Krakaren Clone (Second Floor). [4]

When running away from Frank Q and Maggie My on the First Floor, Carl adds an unstable stick of dynamite to the corpse of a Rat. [3] The show Death Watch Extreme Dungeon Mayhem shows Carl a clip of Frank looting the dynamite from the corpse, which blows up, injuring Yvette. [5]

Book 2

Carl throws two sticks of Goblin Dynamite at the Shambling Bersekers, but due to the darkness can't see very well when he throws. The two sticks rebound toward Carl, who falls backward into the corpse of the Divider, and blacks out from the ensuing explosion of a corpse. [6]

Carl plants gobin dynamite around the building of the Village Guard Swordsman and uses a Hobgoblin Detonator to be able to set off all the charges at once. [7]
