On the Fourth Floor, she offered private security to Carl and Donut for 500 gold and indicates that Donut's Charisma doesn't work on her. After Donut is attacked, Astrid refunds 400 gold, indicating that Clarabelle had cheated them. Rather than making an issue of it, they keep that information for later use.^[2]

Carl and Donut needed to enter restricted areas of the Desperado Club to rendezvous with their Changeling contacts, but that level of the club was locked to crawlers. Donut blackmailed Clarabelle with the stolen gold in order to gain access. Rather than admitting them directly, the Crocodilian tells her blackmailers of the hidden staircase in the women's restroom.^[3]
