Cat

You can’t ever trust cats. Like, ever. They’re all cute and cuddly, but they’ll eat your corpse in a second. -- Carl[1]

Donut is the only fully cat crawler in the Dungeon; however, at least one crawler chose the Were-Cat race, and several chose the Cat Girl race.[2]

Description

The cat (Felis catus), or the house cat, is the only domesticated species in the family Felidae. Cats have strong flexible bodies, quick reflexes, retractable claws, sharp teeth, and well-developed night vision and sense of smell. Cats can hear sounds too faint or high-pitched for human ears, and both secrete and perceive pheromones.[3]

In the Dungeon, crawlers who choose this race on the Third Floor receive a lower-than-average stat bonus but multiple skills including Night Vision, Slash Attack, Cat-Like Reflexes, and a benefit called Nine Lives.[4]

Donut speculates that she does bonus damage to canine creatures when she fights the Danger Dingo and Kobolds on the Second Floor. A tab called "Racial benefits" pops up but disappears because they are not yet on the Third Floor. [5]

Quadrupeds (like Cats) generally don't have race specific guild halls. [6]

Story

Book 2

“I choose cat. Next.” [7]

Donut chooses to stay as a cat on the Third Floor as her race selection. [7] Zev mentions that Donut was the only crawler to choose the Cat race. [2]
