“My good sir, I must ask you sheath your sword immediately!” the Bopca cried. “This is a family establishment!”[1]
Bopca are an alien race, but often work as non-combatant NPCs inside the Dungeon.
Description
Bopca are a stout, green-tinted, hairy dwarfish race that smell vaguely like wet moss.[2] The females and males are equally shaggy.[3] In general, Bopca are good cooks but known for having "a miserly streak"; giving discounts goes against their better nature.[3]
An alien race, many Bopca signed contracts with Borant Corporation to work as NPC safe room attendants; in exchange, Borant spared their homeworlds from transformation.[4] They are generally good cooks, but are knwon and, while they can't discuss the Dungeon's finer points with crawlers, they can share information about Safe Rooms and Personal Spaces.[5] They do not have access to the newsfeed, and instead receive a physical newsletter after each episode of Dungeon Crawler World: Earth.[6]
Bopcas hate to discount anything, even if they don't reap any benefit from the higher price. One gets extra experience in the Negotiation Skill if a Bobca lowers their price. [3]

Bopca Protector
Caretaker of this saferoom.
This is a Non-Combatant NPC.Bopca Protectors are magical, gnome-like creatures who exist solely to watch over Safe Rooms. They do everything from scrub the toilets to prepare your food. They are surly, smelly, and they never wash their hands.[7]
This class of Bopca manage, clean, and cook for full-service Safe Rooms inside the Dungeon.[2] Their levels may vary widely from 21 to 63.[2][8]
Beginning on the Fourth Floor, crawlers can purchase Personal Spaces and upgrades from Bopca Protectors. The Bopcas are given a set price to present to crawlers, which can be negotiated down by up to 25%; however, the Bopca are incentivized with rewards (including their choice of location on the next floor, larger food budgets, etc.) to keep the prices high and for selling upgrades, and are known for being naturally adverse to discounts. Crawlers receive extra skill experience if they can talk a Bopca down.[3]
Trivia
- Carl often likens the Bopca to dwarves, or straight-up calls them "gnomes."[3]
