Victory is one of three choices that Odette gives Carl and Donut for adjutant. Huanxin Jinx had expected Odette to offer her own services.
The other options Odette presented were Ripper Wonton, a talk show host that Carl and Donut had met on the third floor, and Drick, who Carl had met at CrawlCon. Only Drick had been a crawler, but that was before he was taken over by a Valtay brain worm. Quasar, observing from the wings since Harbinger was also at the show, emphatically encouraged Carl to pick Victory.[1]
