Her voice soared. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard.
-- Carl (Book 5, Chapter 74)

"All Eyes on Me" is a minor charm bard spell which causes those hearing it to focus attention on a subject of the caster's choice.[1]

Description

As a charm bard spell, the caster only needs to sing the song in tune to affect everyone in line of sight.[2] The better the caster sings, the more effective it will be.[3] It does not cost mana to cast.

Story

Donut does not learn "All Eyes on Me" from her Sixth Floor Legendary Diva Class; instead, she learns it from Sheet Music received in a Benefactor Box from the Apothecary.[3] [4]

The first time the sheet music is mentioned in the text, Carl has already determined the reason it was sent. It is not revealed which crawler received the benefactor box with the sheet music; however, seven crawlers received Benefactor Boxes containing items for Donut.[5]

At the Butcher's Masquerade, Carl tells Chaco that Donut was able to sing the song perfectly on her second or third try. She had found it easy to sing the spell because she had been hearing the song her entire life. This confuses Carl a little: "There was a bit of a mystery there, a chicken and the egg thing, but I had too much to deal with to wonder on it for long."[5]

When Donut finally performs the song, she doesn't need the sheet music, meaning it has been added to her repertoire. Britney accompanies Donut on guitar. The spell successfully charms Queen Imogen, the hunters, and the crawlers, and focuses everyone's attention on Big Tina's recital. Only Signet is unaffected by the charm.[3]

Lyrics

Book 5, Chapter 74:

"Good girl, good girl, you're a good girl, my princess.
You're like a root beer float. Oh yes, oh yes.
I'd take it all back and never let you win. I wouldn't do it all over again.
I love you. I love you. I'm sorry, my princess.
All eyes on me.
All eyes on me."
