Story

Book 1

Zhang, Li Jun, their manager from Earth, and Li Na defeat a neighborhood boss during their first week in the Dungeon. The four-person group is boxed in between hatching Brindled Vespa and Troglodytes on the second floor when a Time Freeze Spell hits them and Zhang and Li Jun are teleported onto the Maestro's show, Death Watch Extreme Dungeon Mayhem. Zhang wants to use their two "teleport points" to rescue Li Jun and Li Na from the impossible situation, sacrificing himself, before Carl whispers instructions to escape the situation and manipulates the Maestro into sending the men back before the spell expires. Abruptly teleported back to the fight, Zhang is the first to react; he barks orders at Li Jun, grabs their severely injured manager, and the group shoulder their way passed the lizards and to safety. [4]

Book 3

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 3

Li Jun and his party are stuck at station 101 on the Vermillion line. He is part of the Vermillion Line Rescue. [5] Their group grows to twelve members before they meet Carl again on the Fourth Floor Iron Tangle. He, along with the rest of his party, takes the train up to station 36 where team Meadow Lark is setting up for the Stairwell Fight on the Fourth Floor battle. [5] [6] Elle mentions to Carl how Li Jun doesn't realize Zhang is in love with Li Na. [7] At some point in the past two floors, Zhang received a Shrink Wand, which he previously used to choke a monster to death with its own collar, and to shrink an oncoming train, killing every mob on board. He gained six levels, a Boss Box, and a multi-kill box for doing so. After Carl saves their group for a second time, Zhang gifts him the wand a single charge left.[3] He, Li Jun, and Li Na are instrumental in orchestrating the finale on the Fourth Floor. Zhang pilots the portal cart.[2]

Zhang, Li Jun, and Li Na proceed to install it in Imani's room and use it to carry out Carl's "suicide mission."[12] Carl puts Zhang in charge of using Carl's new Shrink Wand, and Zhang only uses two charges before returning it to Carl.[13]
