OKAY BUT IT’S REALLY GROSS AND CREEPY. IT’S LIKE A PARTY AT YARILO’S PLACE BEFORE HE GOT SENT TO THE NOTHING BUT WITH A LOT LESS WEIRD SEX. THAT’S THE BEST DESCRIPTION I GOT. -- Samantha[1]

Yarilo is the banished god of lust, and the son of Taranis.[2][3] Yarilo was once known for hosting orgies (which Samantha attended even though he skimped on catering), but is now trapped in the Nothing.[4][3]

History

He attended the first Butcher's Masquerade, hosted by Taranis and Apito in the Halls of Ascendency. When he drunkenly attempted to force himself onto the familiar of another god, he broke the seal of peace. As punishment, Apito sent him to the Nothing.[3]

Story

On the Fifth Floor, Ghazi sought the Gate of the Feral Gods in the hopes of gaining controlled access to the Nothing and asking Yarilo to make Lika fall in love with him. Instead, he summoned Psamathe.[2]

Trivia

  • In a previous season of Dungeon Crawler World, crawlers wearing divine items in Yarilo's presence received "the head exploding debuff." The System AI is kind of sure that this debuff was programmed out for Dungeon Crawler World: Earth.[5]
  • In Earth mythology, Yarilo is an "alleged East and South Slavic god of vegetation, fertility, and springtime." He was the tenth son of the Slavic god of thunder, Perun, but was kidnapped and raised in the land of the dead by Veles, the Slavic god of the underworld and cattle. His return from the underworld ushered in spring and fertility. He courted and married the goddess Morana, cheated on her, and was killed for it. She used parts of his body to build a new house. He is also associated with horse imagery.[6]
