"Hsssss" -- Donut
Torches are single-use utility items frequently and abundantly received in Loot Boxes on the First Floor. They look like short, tapered sticks, approximately the diameter of a cork.[1][2]
When a crawler removes a torch from inventory, a tooltip appears above the torch asking if the crawler wants to activate it. If the crawler mentally selects "Yes" or "Activate," the torch lights on its own. Once lit, the end of the stick burns with bright, dancing flames for thirty minutes.[1]
Story
Book 1
Carl first lights a torch to see the effects of his Goblin Dynamite from tossing it into the Hoarder's lair. [1]
Donut hisses every time she receives torches in a loot box, and only gets worse after she learns the Torch Spell. By the time the Royal Court of Princess Donut exits the First Floor, she has (230) torches in her inventory. Odette explains that she's only getting them because her reaction is entertaining.[3]
