The Skull Empire is one of the oldest and largest Syndicate governments, run by King Rust, who is an orc. [1] They have a legacy spot in The Faction Wars.
Description
The Skull Empire is a monarchy run by King Rust. He has a wife Queen Consort Ugloo and three children in line for the throne: Prince Stalwart, Princess Formidable, and Prince Maestro.
The Skull Empire makes its money selling weapons. When the Pork Boy Snick starts circulating, the citizens start to compare the Skull Empire to the hedonistic Orcish Supremacy, causing unrest. [2]
Faction Wars
Historically the Skull Empire has done very well in Faction Wars. They won six of the last ten Faction Wars, placing in the top three teams every time. [3]
Story
Book 1
While on Death Watch Extreme Dungeon Mayhem, Maestro claims the Skull Clan was around when the Syndicate created the crawl. [3] Zev mentions that “If the Orcish Supremacy is a child with a lemonade stand, the Skull Empire is the Wal-Mart corporation. It’s one of the largest and oldest Syndicate governments.” [1]
Book 2
After the Snick with Carl and Maestro circulates, a spokesperson for the royal family requests that people stop referring to the prince as 'Carl's Naughty Little Piggie'. [4] Unfortunately for the family, no one seems to be complying.
During the crawl, there is unrest in some of their home worlds, partially due to the snick film featuring their Prince Maestro and Carl. Carl encourages the people in the Skull Empire to look at their situation and revolt if they're unhappy with their government ignoring their duties to play in the dungeon. This prompts Crown Prince Stalwart to fire on the production trailer thought to contain Carl and Donut, accidentally killing Manasa. This prompts retaliation from The Valtay Corporation, who destroy Prince Stalwart's yacht which is rumored to contain Queen Consort Ugloo and Maestro. [2]
Book 3
In the System AI description of the Cornets, it mentions how in the early years of the Skull Empire's expansion a system warlord developed a taste for the creatures and hunted them to near extinction. [5]
Later, they sponsor the War God Grull in an attempt to get revenge on Carl, but he sends the god to the abyss in the train station with the help of several other crawlers. Then they send a Celestial Grenade to Maggie My, who worships Algos, the god of pain. She intends to use on Carl and Donut while possessing Chris Andrews, but she drops it when she is petrified by Katia's bolt of Petrify Rock Class, sent by Princess Formidable, sister to Stalwart and Maestro.
