I anticipated where the line of gravity was, and I tried a desperate flip maneuver in an attempt not to be upside down when I fell. It didn’t work. I shielded the crying woman’s body as I landed, once again, in a painful heap on the ground right next to the wooden platform. I groaned and smashed down on my own Heal spell.[1]
Reverse Gravity is a limited range spell that does exactly what its name suggests: gravity pulls all creatures and objects in range in the opposite direction, so the floor becomes the ceiling and the ceiling becomes the floor. When cast, the targets "fall" upward and crash into the ceiling. The spell's boundaries are abrupt: if someone or something is pushed over the boundary, it falls to the actual floor.[2]
The first time a crawler experiences the effects of this spell, they receive the What Goes Up Achievement.[3]
Story
Book 1
After Jack summons a Rage Elemental to the Second Floor, the monster catches Carl, Donut, Elle McGibbons, and the final "train car" with a Reverse Gravity spell. Donut flips in midair to land on her feet, but Carl and Elle land gracelessly and painfully on the ceiling. Elle's health plummets as she is struck by her wheelchair and the cart, and Carl races to her rescue.[2]
