Mysterious Letter. GumGum the orc had this blood-soaked letter in her possession. It’s in an odd language. Is it a clue? Is it a grocery list? You can’t fucking read it, so who knows? [2]

Description

Mordecai mentions that the script is necro-script, the language of necromancers. [2] He later figures out that the letter is a spell scroll for the Suppurating Eye Spell, allowing the caster to see and hear what is going on around the scroll. [1]

Story

Book 2

The Mysterious Letter is one of the items GumGum has on her body when Carl searches it, along with the Gate Pass. Mordecai recognizes that the script is in the language of necromancers, and that they probably are dealing with a lich. [2]

Mordecai figures out that the letter has a Suppurating Eye Spell attached to it, based on the dead prostitute on the roof with the "No, you won't" scrolled on it. Carl and Donut use this knowledge to lure the caster into sending Krasue out to stop them from jumping onto the roof of the administration building, but instead send some Clockwork Triplicates and blow the building up from a safe distance.
