Ifechi was a medic in the Red Cross, and became one of the Dungeon's Top Ten Crawlers after partnering with Florin.

Appearance

Dark-skinned, bald, and rail-thin, Ifechi had "stunningly beautiful" features.[3][1] She entered the Dungeon wearing a bright red shirt and a vest, carrying a medical bag emblazoned with the Red Cross logo over one shoulder.[3]

Progression, Gear, and Skills

Ifechi was armed with a magical staff that summoned and flung a lot of leeches, which covered and quickly killed the targeted mobs. Once full of various mob-fluids, the leeches could be eaten to receive a variety of buffs. As Mordecai explains:

“Fascinating,” Mordecai said. “I haven’t seen anything like that in a very long time. I thought they’d removed that spell. Crocodilians have the ability to triple the effectiveness of any buffs they receive from eating creatures. He probably chose that race just because of her staff.”[4]

As of the Fifth Floor, Ifechi's staff is in Florin's inventory.[3]

Story

Pre-Dungeon

Ifechi and her twin sister were born in Nigeria.[1] Ifechi joined the Red Cross and entered the Dungeon with Le Mouvement, a paramilitary group of 150 armed men who were most likely fighting in the Central African Republic (CAR) Civil War when the transformation occurred.[5][6]

Book 1

By the end of the First Floor, the group's numbers had been slashed down to 80 due to infighting.[7] On the Second Floor, Ifechi was locked outside the Boss Chamber when the remaining members of Le Mouvement were slaughtered by a powerful City Boss slime monster. She was only safe because she did not go inside. The recap episode showed a full minute of Ifechi sitting on the ground outside the chamber and crying.[8]

Book 3

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 3

Ifechi makes the top 10 list, and Carl mistakes her for a man. He notes that she is traveling with Florin at this point. [9]

Book 4

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 4

Ifechi met and formed a party with Florin before the level collapsed, and received a magical staff that summons buff-giving leeches. Although she was separated from Florin on the Third Floor for class and race selection, both crawlers chose their new attributes based on the other's skillset and reunited (with much hugging and sobbing) soon after. They had known each other for five days at most but were already close; Florin calls her "Ife."[3]

Both Florin and Ifechi were ranked on the first Leaderboard, and remained in the top ten until the end of the Fourth Floor. Ifechi was killed shortly before descending to the Fifth Floor, while trying to protect Florin and an unnamed crawler from Lucia Mar.[3] Florin was given credit for the kill.
