He smiled, revealing a row of sharp teeth. “Don’t you worry about that, human. You will know. Just listen to the chopper. It will tell you.”[1]
The Goblin Chopper Copper is a Goblin-made motorcycle running on a steam engine. It has a sidecar fit for a princess.
AI Description
Goblin Copper Chopper with attached sidecar. Human-sized. Contraption.
Take a junkyard bicycle, add an unreliable steam engine, remove all the bolts holding it together, replace them with chewing gum, and you get the idea. The preferred assault transport of Goblin Bomb Bards, what this contraption lacks in reliability and safety it makes up for in absolutely nothing.[2]
Appearance
The framework is seemingly welded from mismatched copper scrap, and a thumping steam engine sits in the middle of the chassis. The seat appears to be an alligator skull with white fur on top. The sturdy black wheels are made of some unknown material, more disc than tire.
The detachable sidecar is little more than a bar, a single wheel on a massive spring, and a smaller flat-headed, fur-lined orc skull as a seat. The backrest is painted purple and has an extra layer of fur.[2]

Operation
The steam engine runs on a permacube, rather than on a lesser demon, so it will operate as long as it has fuel to heat it. A hopper extends from the engine to the handlebars, allowing the rider to toss coal in as needed to heat the permacube.[2] At a rough speed of 20mph, the hopper will need 3-4 lumps of coal per mile (60 - 80 per hour).[3]
To start the engine, the rider needs to pedal the chopper like a bicycle to reach their desired speed (max of 25 mph[4]), then turn the throttle to stay locked at the speed.[5] Due to the engine's heat, the rider will need to hold their legs out to prevent burning. As the operator's Chopper Pilot Skill level increases, they can use the throttle to adjust the bike's speed, rather than the pedals.[3]
Pressure and heat can be further controlled by twisting spigots on the side of the bike; one reduces heat to prevent the engine from blowing, and the other reduces pressure.[2]
Story
Book 1
Carl commissions the Goblins to make the chopper on the First Floor as a way to navigate the winding tunnels more easily and cover ground quickly. For a while, it is the second most valuable item in his inventory, just behind the Tome of Wisp Armor.[6] After an encounter with Scat Thugs, Carl notes that the minimap becomes less effective at higher speeds.[3]
The chopper is instrumental in Carl's plan to save Meadow Lark from the Rage Elemental, but is destroyed in the process. [7]
