Epitome Tagg

Epitome Tagg is the leader of The Dream. Son of Epitome Noflex.

Appearance

At his first meeting with Carl and Donut, Carl mused that Tagg looked nothing like the unhinged psychopath he was portrayed to be. He wore a simple, leather jerkin and was indistinguishable from the rest of the dream elves. He was one of the richest men in the entire galaxy.

During faction wars, he wore utilitarian armor.

History

The dream elves controlled food-growing operations in numerous solar systems and owned the patent on multiple types of food. Supposedly, if you lived in certain areas, your body wouldn’t let you digest their food unless you had a license for it.

Story

Book 7:Faction Wars

Despite commanding his troops to attack the crawlers and NPCs mercilessly, when danger came to his doorstep, Tagg made the safe choice to flee and hide in the woods, effectively abandoning his own troops.

He was tough to find during the wars, and was eventually sucked inside the big ball of fighters by Donut. He survived the threshing of the fighters in the ball, and eventually tried to take control of Louis' body by replacing his vital organs. If he had succeeded in replacing Louis' brain or nervous system, Tagg would’ve been able to actually take control.

Carl and his allies deduced from these actions that Epitome Tagg was a cyborg, which Carl revealed to the wider galaxy. Since he was one of the most famous CEOs in the galaxy, that secret had wider implications. The Dream provide food, and the Reavers build just about everything else. An alliance would have been a mega-monopoly, and the only reason why the Reavers don’t have a foothold in food production is that people don’t trust them with it. The Dream is hardly better with their food licensing agreements, but people don’t have to worry about being shepherded toward singularity.

Prime Minister Glory failed to assassinate Carl to prevent this secret leaking.
