An Engineer's Table (also referred to as an Engineering Table) is a crafting workbench that can be installed and used in Personal Spaces. It is a general, catch-all table where crawlers can use magical tools such as the Goo-Inator 3000 to fabricate and modify items.[2][3]
Description
Although crawlers can technically use the table to make armor-shaped pieces, and can wear these pieces, the dungeon does not recognize the items as "equipped" unless the items are then moved to an Armorer's Table.[1] Similar rules likely apply to explosives and the Sapper's Table, but ammunition such as Banger Spheres can be manufactured entirely at an Engineering Table.[4]
A Level 2 Engineer's Table is ideal for assembling multiple parts into a complicated design.[5]
Story
Book 1
Carl steals an Engineer's Table and heaps of engineering supplies from the Goblins on the First Floor.[6]
Book 3
After arriving on the Fourth Floor, he installs it against one of the walls in the Royal Palace of Princess Donut's Crafting area. Using the Goo-Inator 3000 on a breastplate he starts to manipulate the shape using the Freeform function, though he isn't very good at it. This earns him the Martha Stewart Achievement and a Bronze Crafter's Box.[2]
Carl made some "quick and dirty" train car fortifications. He made two types of defenses, exterior doorway blocks and Gangway Chock.[7] Later on the floor he also makes some stuff to derail a train. [8]
Book 4
Carl uses the Engineer's Table almost exclusively to fashion the Royal Chariot (Contraption) on the Fifth Floor.[5] Katia Grim is better at fabricating shapes at the table than Carl is.[9]
Trivia
- The table is slightly less valuable than Rev-Up Toilet-Grade Moonshine.[10]
