Enchanted Shuriken of Bloodlust

“These things are way more powerful than you realize. Do the math. Compounding damage means if you poke something 200 times, it’s like literally millions of points of damage.” -- Brandon Andrews[1]

The Enchanted Shuriken of Bloodlust are flimsy black throwing stars better used for crafting than throwing. Extremely fragile, the shuriken inflict low damage at first, but each successful attack against a type of monster increases the damage they deal against that type of monster by 8%. This effect compounds over time.[2]

If the shuriken is even slightly chipped, the red enchantment fades away.[3]

AI Description

Enchanted Shuriken of Bloodlust (x100)

Small, low-damage throwing stars. These bad boys aren’t anything special upon first glance. They’re the same black stars you wannabe ninjas purchased at the knife shop and the swap meet when you were kids. The same throwing stars you’d drill into the drywall of your room until your mom caught you and took them away. And while these shuriken don’t have the ability to turn you into a ninja, nor do they have the capacity to make your mom stop drinking, they are enchanted with a Bloodlust enhancement. For every monster you damage with a shuriken from this set, the damage against that monster type rises by 8%.[4]

Story

Book 1

Carl receives (100) Enchanted Shuriken of Bloodlust in a Bronze Boss Box after defeating the Juicer on the First Floor.[2] He tests (1) "to see if [he] had any sort of ninja skill," but it chips.[3]

He shows the stars to Brandon Andrews, who suggests using them against the Ball of Swine. He, Brandon, and Chris Andrews spend five minutes throwing (50) stars on the "Speedbump," but break (30) in the process. They fabricate "several" spike strips by bolting (2) stars between slabs of wood, and fabricate at least two spears from chin-up bars, goblin clamps, and (3) stars each. Assuming that there are two spike strips for every crawler who planned to participate in the fight, then at least (72) of Carl's remaining (99) shuriken were used in the battle. [3] He collects some shuriken after the fight, but it is unclear whether or not they were still enchanted or if they were included in his inventory's new "Worthless Garbage" tab.[5]

Carl probably has somewhere around ~20-35 Shuriken in his inventory. If all Shuriken are used to deal damage to a single mob type, the final star could deal 466% - 1,478% of base damage.
