Image Policy
As a wiki we strive for accuracy first and foremost but we also want to be a place for the community to find DCC fan-art. We love handmade art and accurate handmade art will always get first billing over AI illustrations. That said we are not anti-AI; polished AI images with a focus on accuracy will always be welcome here.
How To Post Art and Illustrations
- Go to Special:NewFiles.
- Click "Add New Image".
- Drag and drop your image on to the upload window.
- Click on more options.
- Click the licensing drop-down and, assuming you created and own the image, select "I created this image myself".
- Fill in the caption with any info you want to share, for example your name, the name of the image, and the medium you used.
- If your image is AI generated please say so in the caption, we support AI images but only when appropriately tagged.
- The caption is also a good place to categorize the image so that it is easier to find.
Here is an example of a caption I would put on an AI illustration of donut:
Donut being fabulous (AI gen by Sandboy) [[Category:Images:Characters]] [[Category:Images:AI Illustration]]
Here is another example for someone with artistic talent:
Enchanted BigBoi Boxers (Oil on canvas by reddit user vvangogh) [[Category:Images:Items]] [[Category:Images:Traditional Fanart]]
- Once you are happy with the information entered click "Upload File".
How To Add Your Picture to a Page
Now your image is in the wiki but people can't see it on a page yet. If you want to stop here be assured that User:Sandboy OC will find the image and add it to appropriate pages in appropriate places in due course.
More info will be provided on adding images to pages however it is complicated by two different types of page editor, differences between desktop and mobile, and the vast array of different ways an image can be presented on a page.
For now it's ok to just drop the picture on the wiki and leave it to the flying monkeys.
