Once the DTs start, there is no cure. All die. Or worse. [1]
DTs is a Buff / Debuff to mobs on the Fourth Floor.
AI Description
Description pulled from Festering Ghoul,
"One of the unfortunate side effects of the Rev-Up Amazing Cure-All Vitamin Immunity Shot is the possibility of addiction. If a customer becomes addicted to the vitamin shot, and they do not get their dosage in time, they oftentimes start suffering from withdrawal. The effects of withdrawal ravage the addict’s body, and if they are not treated in time, they begin to suffer from a dreaded condition known as the DTs."[1]
Stage 1
"At stage one, sufferers are overcome with violent tremors. They are barely able to think, or to move. Their mind starts to rot out from within. Only fifty percent of sufferers survive this stage. Half move onto stage two, which allows for increased mobility. The other half drop dead.
They don’t stay dead long, however. They soon transform into what you see before you now. A Festering Ghoul." [1]
Stage 2
“These monsters were exceptionally strong, and they moved fast, but their speed didn’t translate well into precise movement. This buff, or debuff depending on how you looked at it, was similar to being hopped up on PCP.” [2]
“Also, there’s another type of ghoul sometimes in the mix called a wrath ghoul. I think it might be what happens at the end of stage 2. They are very strong. ” [3]
Stage 3
During the Vermillion Line Rescue: A group of monsters with red blinking exclamation marks over their heads. The stage 3 DTs transformed the monsters to have tentacles coming from their back, almost like a Krakaren.[4] It doesn't matter what the original source of the monster was, by the time it goes through the third stage of the DTs, all monsters turn into a "hippo-sized monstrocity with thrashing tentacles on its back." [5]
From the description of the Razor Fox: In stage three, this mob’s form has changed, and it bears very little resemblance to its original self. Kind of like how all you humans did after you finally got out of quarantine. It is now covered with multiple tentacles. If this monster has recently fed on another living creature, the contents of its stomach may be quite valuable. Or toxic. Or explosive. Or worse. That’s what makes these guys so fun. Unfortunately for them, this form is only temporary. The DTs are always fatal.[5]
When a monster suffering from stage 3 dies, it explodes into a mass of Krakaren Crotch Dumplings. [5]
