Appearance
Carl describes Clammy the Clown as shorter than him (<6'3") but almost three times as wide. He wears a brightly colored but filthy pink and blue gown with a white ruffle on the neck. His main body is lumpy and mishappen. His face is human like, but with pointed teeth, covered in thick red white and blue grease paint. Clammy's main weapon appears to be long overgrown fingernails. Book 2
Carl encounters Clammy upon entry to Grimaldi's Traveling Circus when he and Tsarina Signet attack the circus on the second night of the Third Floor. Carl enters the Big Top Tent, holding out a Big Top Ticket as he does so. Clammy leans over, smells the ticket, then lets Carl pass. [1]
