Bin

Bin is a Nullian producer of Planet Beautiful, produced by the Titan Conglomerate. He looks tired and irritated, annoyed that his show has gotten popular enough that he is being micromanaged.^[1]

Story

Book 3

Carl and Donut go on Planet Beautiful. Donut enjoys her piece about pet shows, but Carl refuses to read an inaccurate script about beauty pageants. He asks why they can't get a robotic voice of his to do the reading and Bin informs him they can't do so without a disclaimer. People watch the show because they know it's really the crawler telling them about their world. ^[1]

Carl calls the script crap, to which Bin agrees. They had hired an AI consultant who consumed all of human media, but got a discount because the Borant Corporation started the crawl early. Bin explains to Carl that when he started the program he wanted to tell the real story of the cultures getting erased. But since the show became popular, the Titan Conglomerate is making crawlers narrate and will be taken away from him unless he makes the show "interesting". ^[1]

Bin offers Carl a few different scripts, "mechanized military conflict", "video arcades" and "history of milk pasteurization". Carl almost chooses the milk one to get the show canceled, but changes his mind at the last second due to Bin's earnestness. ^[1]
