Amayon has arrived. Beware, all. Beware. Hell has come to burn the world.[1]

Amayon is a Demon Prince of Sheol.

Description

The youngest of the four crown princes of Sheol, Amayon is a Level 250 demon and associated with fire.[2]

He was betrayed by one of his brothers and cast out of the Kingdom of Sheol into the Eighth Floor.[3] Ysalte is the mother of his unidentified child.[4]

Appearance

In his true form, Amayon is an enormous centaur whose chest is roughly at the height of a 32-story building. His red skin bubbles as though made of lava, with swirling patches of black. His head resembles a massive, demonic deer, with an almost dinosaur-like beaked mouth containing nothing but teeth and fire. He has four steaming horns: two rising straight into the sky, and two that curve down like tusks.[4] His voice is physically painful to hear.[5]

Story

Amayon possesses the Madre de Aguas after she succumbs to zombism on the Eighth Floor, and his arrival prompts Emberus to update his primary quest.[2] The demon in the giant snake's body positions itself atop the tallest building in Havana and blows endless fire into the sky while demon seagulls circle it like a tornado; the entire area grows distinctly hotter.[6] He is attempting to cast a massive spell that will create a wide-area portal and "inhale all the souls within the Cuba area."

After Carl develops his plan to save the remaining Eighth Floor crawlers, the System AI distributes the Amayon-themed Where the Sidewalk Ends Quest, and later follows it up with the Missing Piece Quest]].[3][4] When Carl finally manages to speak to Amayon, Amayon thanks him for Ysalte's death and says:

“That’s what he sent you to ask? To ask about his son? You tell him that I know exactly what happened to his child. I was witness to the deal being signed. If he assists in helping me kill my three brothers, I will tell him.”[7]

Amayon returns to the Fifteenth Floor to wage war against his brother. The AI notes, "Hopefully an all-out war in Sheol won’t spill outside the 15th floor."[8]
